Can I get college credit while in college?

I have 2 questions I need answered:

  1. Is there any point in retaking the SAT/ACT?

Yes, I got accepted into A&M, but I was just wondering if they’d ever be used again while I’m there. I scored am 1150 (M + CR) (I blame my school. I’m 99% sure that only 2-3 people scored better than that at my school)

  1. Can I get college credit while in college?

I come from a school where majority of students score 1s or 2s on AP tests, which means that rarely will anyone receive college credit from AP tests. At the moment, I’m studying for 4 AP tests. I’m 70% sure I can pass 2 of them, but not the other 2. Soooo basically if I don’t pass them, I plan on taking the CLEPs for them over the summer and getting credit that way, but I don’t want to just cram for multiple subjects and end up failing the test.

You can take CLEP tests while in college and get credit for them. See: http://dars.tamu.edu/Testing/CLEP.

HOWEVER, A&M does not accept ALL CLEP tests for credit.

Make sure the tests you want to take are accepted. See: http://dars.tamu.edu/getattachment/Testing/CLEP/CLEP-info-LDAVIS.pdf.aspx
