Im worried about whether or not ill get in to a college i want to go to. I'm senior from NJ. I go to a SMALL Catholic school. I'm seventh out of forty kids in my class, with a 3.95 weighted GPA, I'm student council Vice President, I play 3 varsity sports: basketball (3 years varsity), soccer(4 years varsity, captain), baseball (4 years, captain), I'm in numerous clubs and have been a founding member of 2 of them. I have an ACT Composite 26 and an SAT of 1880 (reading 670, math 620, writing 590). But with this I'm worried I won't get in to schools I want to. Currently I've gotten in to Seton Hall and UCF but thy were my backup schools. I really want to go to the University of Florida or Wake Forest but I'm worried I can't get in after Miami deferred my early action application to regular decision. Can anyone tell me my chances of getting into these schools? can i ask you about where else I've applied if you can help me?

Between Florida and Wake Forest, it would be my guess that WF is easier to get into from out-of-state than UF because it is a private school (although I’m not sure of this). I think you have a pretty decent shot at Wake because of your extracurriculars. I’m not certain of your odds for Florida. Good luck!

UF: High match
WF: Match

What was your problem with Rutgers anyway?

I wasn’t a big fan of Rutgers campus being so spread out throughout the city

I was denied by UF. How much stronger would my application have to have been?

It’s impossible to tell for sure, but I think an SAT above 1900 and an ACT of 29 would have been sufficient. A weighted GPA of about 4.2 or higher would have helped as well. You weren’t off by that much. Please let us know what happens with Wake. I really hope you get in!

Thank you. I got into Wake Forest and will be attending there
