my gpa is 3.4/4.0 scale and my SATs were a 1260, m:640/v:620/w:580.
most of my classes have been advanced or honors and i am currently enrolled in 2 AP courses.

i have put in over 1,000 hours of community service by working at a summer camp and also have an aditional 75 hours from teaching catechism. i have been a member of the the writing club and newspaper, photography editor for both. i'm a member of model un, debate club, students for enviornmental action, playbill club, musicals, and plays.

Last year's incoming freshman class had an SAT average of 1264 and an average GPA of 93. For the class of 2010 those credentials may get even a little bit higher. The reason the student body at Binghamton is getting better and better every year is because the cost of college is SO high today, and a lot of people want a first-rate education at a minimum cost despite the ugly campus and bad weather.

So, I would say your SAT is right in the range for Binghamton (especially since they don't care that much about writing this year). Your GPA is just a little bit low, but I think yours ECs should be enough to push you over the top. Especially if you live in New York, I think you're probably in.

Oh, by the way, I got admitted into Binghamton Early Action just a couple of weeks ago with the same GPA as you. My SATs were a little bit higher (CR: 670, Math: 650, Writing: 700), but there's not much difference there, especially since writing doesn't count.

who really cares about community service? Id rather get paid than do anything for free. A real job is more valuable since there are actual responsibilities involved. Obviously, you can't get fired when you perform community service (free labor).
