Can I get in?

Hello everyone!
I am currently in the process of applying to schools.
I would like to apply to UCF for Fall 2021. With my stats, do you think I can get in?

I have:
1230 SAT
3.4 UW/3.6 Cummilative/4.69 Weighted
Extracurriculars are National Honor Society, Key Club, Spanish Honor Society (all of which I have leadership positions). I also did Swimming and

Do you think I have a good chance of getting admitted?

Yes, I think you have an excellent chance getting in.

Apply now, because UCF uses rolling admissions. If you wait, thinking they won’t decide until after the first of the year – a) you are wrong, and b) they will have accepted some less qualified applicants than you!

One note: Every college does “weighted GPA” differently. UCF uses only weighted scores on core courses required for graduation by the state of Florida. So AP, Honors, etc electives will not be counted for your UCF weighted GPA.

But you’ll be fine.

Go Knights. Charge ON!

Also, on weighting of GPA, UCF awards 1 bonus point for an AP course and 1/2 point for Honors.

In our case in Miami, my daughter’s school district awarded 2 points for AP and 1 for honors, so her “weighted GPA” dropped from 4.6 to about 4.2 I think. She’s got in.

You’ll be fine.

@JimDadinmia That explains it. I couldn’t figure out how so many kids had those super high GPA’s with low UW. Ours is the same weighting as UCF but includes electives. There was also some discussion with admissions from a few schools about number grades of 90-92. I’m not sure we ever got a definite answer if they count them as A’s. Some schools may consider them A’s.
Good Luck @cruzatt789 Definitely apply sooner than later!

@1intwo2go I asked that exact question of the admissions officer that gave the presentation when we visited in 2019. He said they do not use - and + in calculations, so 90-100 is an A. That helped my son’s GPA as he seemed to be the king of the A- in high school.
