Can I get into ASU?

I am currently a Junior in high school in Wisconsin. I have a 4.2 weighted GPA, I have no idea my unweighted, somewhere around 3.7-3.8. My grades are all A’s and 2 B’s in all honors/AP classes so far this year and won’t change much this semester. I haven’t taken the ACT yet but I will probably get a score between 27-32. I have played a lot of sports freshman and sophomore year but quit them due to injuries and lack of playing time. I still play tennis though. I volunteer with special olympics and a lot through my church. I also have worked a part time job since sophomore year. I’m in business and national honor society, and I participate in FBLA(business club). So will I get in or no?

Arizona state is definitely in your range!

You’re way above their average ACT score, which is about a 25ish, and your GPA is also higher. State schools largely look at numbers, and yours are way above.

Thanks for the reply!

You will have no problem with admission. The requirements are posted here

https://students.asu.edu/freshman/requirements

You do not even need to submit test scores for admission to the university assuming you have at least a 3.0 in “competency classes” which are defined in a link on that same page (basically core classes).

ASU does not consider ECs if you meet the automatic admission requirements.

However, with your grades and if your ACT scores are as you predict, you should also strongly consider applying to Barrett, The Honors College. For admission to Barrett, you will need to submit a separate application, test scores, an essay, and 2 letters of recommendation. Barrett admission is more holistic and does include consideration of ECs.

@ASUhopeful1 you probably qualify for a scholarship as well. Check out the scholarship calculator on the ASU site. It was 100% accurate in our case. And take @STEMFamily advice and look in to Barrett. But don’t wait too long. I am sure deadlines are approaching.

Extracurriculars don’t matter in ASU’s app. Get above a 3.0 you’re guaranteed in
