AP Calc BC is horrible. Absolutely horrible. And my case is even worse, because there are two sections at my school--I have the crazy teacher that gives more than half the class a C, and the other teacher is both an incredible teacher and gives a ton of As.

And we're all competing against those kids.

And we're all competing against those kids.

I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU ON THIS.

My teacher is a serious moron who doesn't know how to teach and has idiotic grading scale.
The other teacher is just brilliant (had him 2 years ago), period.

You can get into Brown with any grades; as long as you're able to play the drum and smoke pot, you're pretty much well off and ready for Providence!

I have at least two B's this semester, both in 2 of my 3 APs...probably due to all my apps. I hope this doesn't kill my chances, as they were never that great to start with.

after I finished my apps I'm actually doing really well, even getting ahead in class, but it won't reverse the damage in time for finals :(

ok I got an A 1st quarter in calc and I'm prob getting like a C 2nd quarter because of stupid nonsense and my teacher's grading policies.

for the semester, colleges are just gonna see my semester grade in calc a B,
but brown wouldn't give a **** since I'm a classics major anyway, right??

wow, calc is one of my easiest classes (96 1st quarter, 95 2nd), our schools must be very diff
our grades come mostly from tests and a few quizzes, and no curve

soo no one really answered the question.. is a c gunna kill the chances of getting in b/c i may be getting a C+ in ap calc.............. has anyone gotten in previous years w/ a C in their mid-marking period grades for senior year?

I seriously doubt that Brown sees a C and immediately puts an application into the "deny" pile. Whether you are accepted with a C depends on the strength of the rest of your transcript, the class in which it is happening (the discussions of AP Calc killing GPAs happens around this time every year on CC, so I'm sure Brown as well as other colleges is quite aware of the difficulty of this class), the profile of your school, and how much Brown wants you. Do kids with Cs get in? Yes. But they better offer something in their application that is very attractive.
