Hi people :-)
So I've got kind of a strange story. I graduated from high school as a sophomore (i took a test called the California High School Proficiency Exam) and went straight to a CC. This is my third semester, so I'll be going through the application process relatively soon. I just wanted to know what my chances are for Cal, UCLA, Stanford, Johns Hopkins, USC....

HS GPA: 3.8
SAT's: Never took them! :-

CC GPA: 3.86
MAJOR: Econ/International Econ
UNITS: 64 (sem. units)
EC's: Business club, Valley Youth Council Pres (student gov), SITE (UCLA transfer program), Worked in doctor's office, Alpha Beta Sigma (honors program), Dean's List, and others...
(I took a majorly difficult courseload, including Business Law, two semesters of calculus, two semesters of Latin, and Programming. )

I know Stanford is a huge reach, but what about Cal and UCLA? What am I missing?

I'd say both of those schools are a match for you. I know that Econ, especially business econ, is a tough admit, but I think you stand out and will be fine.

Oh no! So I didn't take the SAT, but the next one is on Nov. 9, a few weeks from now. Should I register and just take it? I'm scared, what if I do bad? Can I get around it?

If you want to get out of an admissions requirement, you'll have to talk to Stanford about it. If you really want to go to Stanford, you should sign up and then aggressively prepare.

So i decided not to even bother with Stanford...I'm aiming at UCB or UCLA, possibly Hopkins. Anyone else can add anything? I'd really appreciate :)
