Can I get into Cornell? Stanford? etc..

These questions have been asked a thousand times but Ive never found a person who is super close to my own statistics to compare too.

The Test:
-ACT composite: 31
-English 32
-Math 32
-Reading 30
-Science 30

Transcript/school:
-4.1 GPA (4.0 UW) = Never gotten a B in high school haha
-Rank: 5/288 - Valedictorian
-National Honor Society 11th and 12th (not offered to underclassmen)
-Some community Service (50 hrs)
-Honors classes aren't offered at my school, but I have been taking the AP classes that become available as soon as they do. (AP English, Calculus, etc.)

Some Q's:
-do I absolutely need to take 2 years of foreign language? currently I only have 1 year of Spanish.
-Is ED applying the right way to go?

HELP is extreeeeeeemely appreciated at this point. I'm nervous about my college search and chances.
ALSO: I'm a student in Idaho, if that gives any pluses or minuses at all haha.

You’ve got great grades so ec’s, teacher recs, and essays will set you apart. Your resume looks pretty solid except for ec’s that aren’t sports. Do you have any others?

I don’t have a whole lot of EC’s really. I have a job as a Lifeguard, help run youth football camps during the summer, but spend most of my time either doing school work or working on my truck. Any suggestions for EC’s? I plan to do Science Olympiad and possibly robotics next year.

You would probably fit better in Princeton, they generally like athletes more than the other Ivies. Sports are cool and everything, but it would help if you lean towards a major and start doing activities related to it.

Also, shoot for higher test scores. 31 is below average for Cornell and Stanford. Try the SAT?

I’m absolutely leaning towards mechanical engineering, and plan to take the ACT again in a month. the SAT is too vocabulary based for my taste, and I find the ACT more straight forward.

-Location really isn’t an issue, I’ll go anywhere. The only problem is what schools I would fit in to and get in to.
