Can I get into Cornell?

Hi everyone,
my name is roger and i just graduated 10th grade from gulf coast high scool here in naples florida. This year (10th grade) i took awicked hard schedule which includes AP World History,Ap Biology, Honors Biology, Spanish 3 Honors, Algebra 2, Geometry Honors, English 2 Honors and Drafting 2. Ive managed to get 6 A's (includes my Ap classes) and 2 B's. Ive also joined clubs such as FCA and Key Club and have played 3 Varsit sports (cross country soccer and track). I have 3 School Records in running and will have a 4th soon. My GPA is around 4.4 and my class rank in the top 15. These next two years im really really going to give it all ive got to try an get into an ivy league university such as cornell, princeton or penn to pursue a degree in economics and business. My guidance counselor and i have developled this schedule over the next two years to give me the best oppurtunity of acceptance and I'd like to know what you think of it

Along with my 3 sports and 3 clubs

My Gpa should be around 5.3 ish due to the weight our school puts on honors and AP courses

My whole family lives up in the New England area and im desperatly trying to get into one of these colleges so I can be given the best chance to leave a mark on this world

If you guys could tell me what my chances are for Cornell accepting me (im doing early decision) it would be wonderful

Thanks for your time,
Roger

Come back when you have an SAT score...

you need to loosen up, man.

Why do you have the same classes listed twice under Junior and Senior years? It makes no sense at all to take AP Chemistry and Honors Chemistry in the same year.

the first semester counts as an honors course and the second one counts as the actually AP part...

my PSATS project around a 1560 on the old scale

On how many Ivy boards did you post this? Do you intend to apply to all of them "early decision" as you say?

I think you have a great chance. People are being critical to you for their own reasons... (maybe sick of writing so many projections, especially for the younger people without SATs).

I think you are really on top of things by thinking so ahead and I really wish that I had been more like you. I think that you will have a good chance. Keep doing what your doing and GOOD LUCK!!!

I posted on so many boards because i dont have a clear picture on which ivy league university i want to focus on. So i basically posted my resume to see which ones i have a good chance in and which ones i dont.

Dude, people from SW florida are usually so chilled out....you need to loosen up and spend some quality beach time.

im at the beach all the time since its summer, doesnt get much better than summer in sw florida

I don't know, man... if you want to go to an ivy league university for that reason only, you might want to focus on "do I like it" before "can I get in." They're not all the same, and if you hate being there it'll drain your motivation to get anything done. You might also be surprised by how many people "make a mark on this world" without going to an ivy (for example ~85% of the Fortune 500 CEO's, Ghandi, Jesus, etc).

As for your direction of study, it points toward you ending up at a top school, and you seem to be focused enough to get there. Keep it up.

lmao that Jesus thing made me laugh. Ghandi would have gone to Cornell if he did go to an Ivy League school...he'd love the #4 ranked food and intramural flag football. (jp I love Ghandi a lot, so no disrespect)

y is it that u r putting AP Chemistry , honors chemistry then ap american history, honors american history. i am not sure what that means....you mean u r taking ap chem and honors chem and ap american history and honors american history and ap english lang comp and honors english lang comp in the same year? y?

Didn't Jesus go to Dartmouth?

its just the way our school schedules things

So-are u guys saying my chances are good?

your name is roger...you sound like a loser

Chances are good, dude. I was lucky enough to be accepted at Cornell this year- and I must say my profile was a lot like yours. #7 in the class, pretty good SAT, did cross county for four years. However, remember that the college admissions process is a game; just do the best you can do and see what happens.

No, we're avoiding the topic because you're in 10th grade and haven't even taken the SATs yet.

actually-my real name is mike
