My sister goes to Georgetown as well. I never thought of it as a possible school choice for me, but after going to visit her I have a feeling that I could thrive in the art program there, or as an art history or business major. How big is my chance, from looking at my grades and accomplishments so far, for getting in, and how hard will I need to work this year and next to have a chance? I just want to know if I could do it.

Impossible to say without any kind of test scores. But it’s gonna very difficult with that GPA.

You are at one of the best schools in the country and your schedule is not rigorous, your GPA is trending downwards and ECs are not very exciting. Do as much as you can to get straight As this year and high scores on the SAT. Find an interesting EC, get a research internship, publish it… Can’t get into amazing schools if you are not going to work hard for it. Cold, hard, truth!

I would apply as a “stretch” school but don’t get your hopes up too high. Also you have to have focus, can’t be waivering between Art major and Business. Those who are applying to the business school are focused like a laser and have credentials to back them up. It’s best not to offer false hope, Georgetown is an extremely hard place to get in and they reject highly qualified students by the boatload.

If you were my child, I would not let you apply and would steer you toward better academic fit schools.
