I currently have a 4.125 GPA, however at the end of this year I will likely have a 3.9, I take all honors and so classes and have one C, 3 B’s and 9 A’s, I am hoping to become a biomedical engineer, it has been my dream since I was in 3rd grade ( I’m now in 10th ). I just need some advice on what to do and I I need to give up on said dream and should try a different route. After my grandma died right before school started I fell into a depression and was doing awful at the beginning of the semester, but I am just hoping that it’s not too late for me. Thank you for your time.
Can you take more Honors and APs to raise your GPA? You’ll also need close to a 1400 on the SAT for Biomedical. And make sure you are getting good grades in math and science. Even if you don’t do Biomedical Eng there are lots of great choices at NCSU. Good luck.
I got an A in honors biology but received a C in honors chemistry, I plan on taking AP bio and I’m in the Robinson academy of engineering, and I have all A’s in my academy classes. Is that good enough? I received a 24 on my pre act, however I only got that low because I missbubbled in science, I had a 32 for math though. Thank you again for responding.
@Bsmith1268 I’m sorry about your grandma.
You’re only in 10th grade. It’s too soon to be stressing about this. You have the rest of the year for your grades to even out- but even if you wind up with one C (or even two or three C’s!), it’s not going to shred your chances. Colleges look for an “upward trajectory” of grades- meaning if you’re gonna get a C, 10th grade is the time to do it.
You’ll be fine. It’s not too late for you. Stay off College Confidential and just focus on being in 10th grade. Do your best in school, do things outside of school that you enjoy, and the rest will take care of itself.
Since you have expressed interest in biomedical, take a look at UNC. The programs Raleigh and Chapel Hill are a joint program between NCSU and UNC.
Thank you so much this makes me feel much better
Also it turns out I got a b by getting a 93 on the chemistry final!!!
