Hello everyone.
I’m a junior in high school and was wondering my chances on getting admitted into these Texas colleges. Here are some facts about me
-I attend one of the most competitive and strongest public schools in my state (Top 5 in state and Top 50 in nation)
-I have a 28 ACT (taking it again in June and hoping for around a 30) Breakdown of Scores: Math-33, Reading-32, Science-26, English-21, Writing- 12 out of 12
-I volunteer as part of my local government. I act as a jury member in court and have spent around 30 hours volunteering in court along with 50 total volunteer hours at food banks, homeless shelters and animal shelters (will be volunteering a lot in the summer so that should increase drastically)
-3.2-3.3 High School GPA (I grew up in NJ, and went to a pretty poor school in 9th grade, the atmosphere was different and not competitive at all. During that 9th grade summer, I moved to Texas and attended this Top 5 in state/Top 50 in nation High School for all of sophomore year and will complete my High School education here. The obvious increase in difficulty and responsibility was evident and sophomore year started kind of rough. I managed to cope with the pressure and end off Junior year with a 3.2-3.3 GPA.
- Class Rank is top 50%, due to the change of environment.
- I have been involved in Extra-Curricular activities. I'm a member of the band. Highly seated and play Baritone, Tuba and Flute. I am a member of my Church's youth group and meet bi-weekly for bible study and volunteering. I have played club soccer for the last 3 years. I have competed in competitive Kickboxing for the last 3 years. I am an officer in my schools Art History, Neuroscience, and Psychology clubs and I'm an active member of the Key Club. I am trying to start a Boxing club in my school and hopefully will have success with that.
- I am Multilingual and speak English,French and Spanish
Schools that I’m considering
- Texas A&M
-Texas Tech - Texas State
- UNT
- Baylor (is this a reach?)
Can I get into these colleges? Thanks in advance for all the help guys.
