I’ve always been a generally A student, with about two B’s every semester. My first semester of my junior year I signed up for two AP classes and one Honors. (AP Lang & Comp, AP US history, and Honors Chemistry)
That semester I had a really hard time mentally, and my depression was at its peak, and I ended up failing AP US history that semester with a 69.
I got a B second semester and took a summer school class to make up the credit, but it wasn’t AP so it didn’t replace the course.
My WGPA is a 3.8, and SAT is a 1500. My admission essays are solid, and extracurriculars are OK (VP of a club, sports for three years, involvement in a lot of campaigns and panels, and a lot of electives)
I’m interested in majoring in sociology or criminology/ criminal justice, and I’m applying from in-state.
I‘d like to get an idea of if I really have a shot of getting into a UC school, or if it’s too much of a long shot.
