I am an upcoming freshman for UCI, and I just submitted my SIR. I got admitted for Mathematics, but I want to switch to Biology. If I choose to change majors now, can they rescind me? Or is being stuck in Mathematics for the time being the worst that can happen.
As an incoming Freshman, you have to attend UCI for one quarter before you can proceed with changing your major. No you will not be rescinded for a major change but you need to speak to an advisor at Freshman orientation so you can plan out your schedule.
According to the UCI Biological Sciences website:
Bio Sci, Bio/Educ and Ecology & Evolutionary Biology change of major requests will only be reviewed during the first two weeks of every quarter. The review dates for all other majors will be during spring quarter. More details to be announced.
Ok, thanks for the info! :DD
