Hi all,
During the second semester of my senior year, I decided to drop yearbook class (an extra class, not A-G, 1 hour a day after school) so that I could concentrate on my 4 AP classes that I am enrolled in. A few days ago, I notified the UC processing center of my class change. I am still keeping my grades up (A's and B's) in a very rigorous senior year schedule. So, I was wondering, is dropping Yearbook class grounds for being rescinded from UC Berkeley, especially due to the fact that the class drop was just submitted? I would like to think that such a minor activity (no personal statements or anything) would have little effect on my admissions, especially considering my 4 AP classes this year. So, am I just being paranoid?

Yes, you are being extremely paranoid. Colleges are not out there to screw people over. If they accept you, they want you. Here's a short list of what could get an admissions offer rescinded:

Discipline issue at school

Having run-in with the law

Getting a D or failing a course

Severe injury (if you're an athlete with a scholarship)

Accepting a financial aid offer at another school / breaking an binding admissions contract

In summary, no, you did not get into college because of yearbook. You are fine.

Are you kidding?

lol i laughed.
dude. relax.

my friend got accepted but she did not notify the school that she did not enroll in a community english course because she did not get in in th waitlist. She notified all the schools except berkeley. It's alright for her to notify them now too right?

Notify them but add as much reasonable explanation as you can. Any evidence of the waitlist, especially so they don't think that there migth have been five other sections open that your friend ignored.

So it's okay even though I notified them so late?

bump 10chars

Yes it is ok

if I get 1 C in an AP class (and A's/B+'s in my other classes), will i get rescinded?? i've never gotten a C....

^
No, you won't. It's a "C" not a C-! I'm sure your GPA is above 3.0 as well. Relax! [:

why wouldn't colleges care even though they find out after they admit me? won't they think i was trying to trick them or something

Does Berkeley look at 1st semester/mid-year report grades too or just our final grades in June?

Cal looks at all of your grades from senior year (so yes, 1st semester and 2nd semester grades). You need to obtain an overall 3.0 GPA UW for each term (or semester).

I never gotten a C before my senior year.. and I ended up getting like 3 C's that year.. almost got rescinded.

Probably only if you DIDN'T tell them you dropped the class, then maybe. It wasn't a required class or anything, so don't make a big deal out of it. You're fine! [:
