Will I get rescinded for this? :(

Hi guys! So I listed on my UC application that I would be taking a UC approved AP Statistics online course through APEX learning, but I was forced to drop out of the second semester of the course in order to focus on the six AP classes (AP Physics B, AP Biology, AP U.S. Government, AP Calculus AB, AP Spanish Language, and AP English Literature) I was taking in school, the Art History (ARTH 303) community college class I was taking to satisfy the arts requirement at my school (my current high school would not accept the drama class I had taken at my previous high school), the online geography class that I was taking through FuelEducation in order to fulfill another district mandated requirement, and the multiple after-school technology tests I had to take in order to test out of the semester-long technology requirement at my school. I was subsequently unable to take the corresponding AP exam.

My dropping this class was in no way an attempt to reduce my course rigor, but instead a move done to ensure that I would be able to complete all the requirements necessary for me to be allowed to graduate. I am planning on notifying Berkeley this week about the situation, but felt the need to ask first on CC to (hopefully) quell some of my fears. Is it likely that my admission will be rescinded for dropping this class? :(

I don’t think it’s too likely to get you rescinded, but if it was in terms and conditions there’s still a chance it’ll cause trouble. It’s definitely a good idea to contact them and explain the situation as soon as you can.

Alrighty! Thanks! Bump for any other opinions before I send the email?

I doubt your admission will be rescinded.

I did the same thing, and I was not rescind. Just let them know.

You need to alert the admissions office of this, just to be on the safe side, since it is a “change” in your application for undergraduate admission. However, this will probably be just fine. The more alarming changes that you should worry about is if a grade you reported on your application is different from the grade you actually received for a class, or if you dropped multiple classes.
