Can I improve?

I took the SAT Dec makeup on the 21th and just got my scores back a few days ago. I was absolutely thrilled with my 2080 (640 CR, 800 M, 640 W, 9 essay) considering that I had gotten a 170 on my PSAT last year (I'm a junior by the way) and the huge improvement I made. Even though I know this is not a very high score, it's the first SAT I took and the score was higher than some of the practice tests I have taken. My goal was a 2100 on this test and I almost reached it short of 20 pts so you can see why I'm kinda happy.

Anyways, I recently found out that my school is hosting a SAT test on the 26th of Feb. I'm definitely going not only because it takes place during school hours but also because it's free for all juniors! My question was that if I studied hard enough, do you think that it is possible for me to get around 2200+ on this test? This is important because I am somewhat a poor student and was only able to take the dec test because of the fee waiver.

I'm using Direct Hits for vocab, blue book for practice and random websites for additional practice.

Dude, you’re a junior. Study(CONSISTENTLY) from now until October and November and you could get a 2200. I’m not sure if you have “plateaued” but it never hurts getting familiar with the test. I don’t see any harm in taking the Feb date, unless you do worse and decide to apply to a school that does not allow score choice.

I am a junior as well and my october SAT was 2290 (from 190 soph PSAT)

I am taking it again to get 800 on math mostly.

The thing you have to consider is that you will have A LOT of other things to consider like SAT IIs and sports and stuff.

This is your year to shine everywhere, not just academics. If you have a sport or do other extracurriculars, this is probably your last year to prove that youre worth something more than just good test scores and grades.
