Looking at Cal Poly’s stats, your SAT and GPA are below their average. Their average GPA is 3.87 and average SAT is 1300. According to prepscholar, which isn’t 100% accurate of course, your chances are around 1/3. I would make sure to have backup schools and other schools. Good luck though! Other stuff are also important like sports, clubs, competitions, and application essays.
For Pomona, honestly, your chances are very low. Pomona is a really good, private college with an acceptance rate of 9%. Their average GPA is 4.08 and SAT is 1500. Since you’re a senior, I don’t know if you have time to retake the SAT and try to get a better score, but it might be too late now.
All the CSU’s except SLO admit by Eligibility index and major. If you are local, you have priority.
EI= (CSU GPA x800) + (SAT Math + CR) so your EI calculates out to 3360. Around a 3700-3800 range is competitive for Cal Poly Pomona.
What is your intended major? Any impacted major is definitely a Reach. If you are in the local service area, you might have a chance at a non-impacted less popular major but definitely no guarantees. I would call it a Reach school.
Make sure you have some solid safety and match schools also on your list.
The threshold varies widely by major - and they consider your alternate so, it depends on which programs you applied for.
Just to be clear, I believe the OP is asking about Cal Poly Pomona. Joyce1517’s reply is referencing Cal Poly SLO and Pomona College. I agree with Gumbymom’s assessment.
