My first year of college at Texas A&M has been really tough and the outlook doesn't look very bright. I want to transfer back home and attend University of Houston. I think being closer to my family and friends will help me concentrate and do much better. I live in an apartment which is a distance from TAMU and causes me to neglect my studies and classes. My GPA currently for the first semester is a 2.0, if I can bust out a few last minute attempts for an D, C, and B in a few of my classes to maintain at least a 2.0 and satisfy the transfer requirements for U of H with 31 credit hours. If for whatever reason i'm denied acceptance to the school because of my GPA, is it possible to apply as a freshmen and basically lose the credits I've earned from TAMU and seek acceptance using my high school and SAT records. I was accepted to University of Houston but decided to attend TAMU.

Since you have completed a year of full time study (this means taking courses, no necessarily passing them), you will be considered a transfer applicant at any college.

Whenever you apply to a college, whether as a fr or transfer applicant, you must submit transcripts from all previous college work. Colleges determine you past college enrollment here:

You do not have the option to disregard your past college record when applying. And, as the link in post #2 shows, if you decide to “forget” to list it then it will quickly and easily be uncovered.
