Can I still get admitted even if I missed some of preparatory coursework?

Hi, this is the first time that I post this site.
i'm not good at writing in English so please don't feel bad about it.

I'm a ccc student, who want to have either fine art or illustration as my major.
I'm planning to send my applications to UCs and other art colleges, but there are too many of major prereq courses to take, such as 4 art history courses, digital graphics, ceramic course, et cetera.

Although I couldn't taken all of those courses, I've finished many of those courses and also IGETC courses with GPA 3.9. And I think my portfolio has somewhat fine quality, too.
The problem is that the rest major prereq courses what I haven't taken are no more offered in my attending community college.

My question is this:
Do I absolutely need to finish those preparatory courses in order to be admitted?
How important are those courses?

Simple Answer: Yes and No

Transfer admissions is its own beast. There is no straight answer.

I am planning on transferring as a junior transfer. I will also be switching majors this year. Colleges will look at your courses and your intended major to see if you are viable candidate. They don’t expect you to fulfill the major requirements, but they want to see that you have a solid base of introductory classes to be able to succeed at that college.

The best thing to do is to call up the college admissions office. They will guide you and help you pick classes for this fall.

-best

oh, I see.
Thank you so much!
I’ll call up the office tomorrow.
Thanks again
