Hi everyone,
I’m considering to take a gap year because of all the thing that are happening right now.
And before all the pandemic started, I was already looking to transfer from my school. In fact, I did some applications and got accepted but I did accept the offer because I didn’t receive a scholarship, so I couldn’t afford it.
However, right now I still want to transfer but starting only in the Fall of 2021. So, I wonder if anyone know if I can take a gap year from 2020-2021 and transfer to another school starting on the Fall of 2021.
Thanks
Yes. You are applying as a transfer, and it should be okay.
Financial aid is harder to come by as a transfer. Research carefully.
Thank you! Yes, is hard to get a scholarship as transfer student even harder because I’m an international student, so I can’t use FAFSA or css. If anyone has any advice on that it would be really helpful.
So yes. My daughter did exactly this and was in Indonesia on her study abroad program from college 1, filled out and got accepted to college 2. So she stayed in South East Asia backpacking for 2 extra months going to 5 countries.
When she got accepted to College 2 she was awarded a presidential scholarship worth half tuition or about $30,000.
It was a complete surprise and awesome for her parents ?.
So when looking at schools see what kinds of scholarships are available for transfer students.
