Can I take an Upper-division Literature class as a freshman?

<p>I'm going to be a freshman and I was browsing through LTEN course offerings. It states that I can take UD classes if I'm UD-standing OR by consent of the instructor. If not, it's okay, lol. Just wondering anyway.</p>

<p>States: "Prerequisite: upper-division standing or consent of instructor. Additional prerequisites may be specified below."</p>

<p>Just contacted the Dep’t of Literature and they say I can enroll in the course. However, she says that the majority of students will be JRs/SRs (duh) and they may have more experience than I do.</p>
