I want to take AP Environmental Science my senior year, but my 2nd semester chemistry grade was a C. My 1st semester chem grade was a B though. (I am a junior next year by the way)...and so next year I am taking biology, and as I enjoy biology I think I can get an A. If I get an A in biology would I be allowed to take Environmental Science my senior year or do you have be more of a chem person for that? The thing is that I could have done better in chem but I got lazy and concentrated more on the classes I liked better :p so I failed the final. But that is definitely not happening again.

I think anyone can do AP enviro with only a vague knowledge of chemistry. You’re good.

You do not need an in-depth knowledge of chemistry to take AP Enviro; your grade in chem should not severely impact your performance in that APES. However, I would definitely worry about your work ethic, which appears to be in need of improvement.

APES is one of the easiest APs, you should be able to do well in it.

Yes I know. It really does… I got A’s is every other class though apart from math. I think I am just like this because my parents don’t care. They are fine as long as I don’t get D’s. Sigh.

Ap environmental is more of a history class, with some labs. The writeups for the labs can suck, one of them was over 20 pages, but if you can remember information the class is easy

You don’t need to know any chemistry for APES. I self-studied a 5 on the APES exam without taking any chemistry class before.

I got a C in Chemistry for the year and a B+ in APES (3 on the exam). You’ll be fine!

AP Environmental Science contains very few Chemistry concepts. You should be fine as long as you are willing to work hard for an AP class.
