I'm a dual enrolled student with PG Community College. While enrolled there, I took College Algebra and Applied Calculus but no Trig or Pre-Cal. However, I want to start out at UMD for the Spring and take Cal I there. They said that I couldn't since I don't have Pre-Cal as a prerequisite. I email some professor and asked him if it's fine to take PreCal at PGCC (which would be hybrid course) while taking Cal I at UMD. He said that "he suppose I can do that."
What do you say? I think it's very unlikely. I really want to take Cal I at UMD.
I can't take AP Cal at my school because it is during my half day.

It depends what your precalc covers. Mine was half Alg 2 review and half trig. Only the trig was new so if you can do that yourself then go for it.

See if you can take a departmental placement exam at U Md. Based on the results, discuss the necessity of taking the Pre-Calc course. It really sounds un-fun logistically. I would try to avoid it- but be sure to fill in any “holes” with self-study.
