Can I transfer to UC w/ Spanish major if I haven't finished all the courses for the major?

Can I apply to a UC school from a community college with a Spanish major (wanting to continue into medicine) if I haven’t finished all the required courses for the Spanish major? I’ve finished up to Spanish 4 (they offer until Spanish 6). Also, I’m applying to UCs in the fall and therefore have two more semesters of community college left. Would it be wiser to concentrate on the Bio, Chem, etc classes or do I need to finish Spanish? Thank you!

You need to fulfill whatever it says on assist. If courses are “required” and you didn’t complete them, you won’t get in. If they are “recommended” or “highly recommended,” it will depend upon other factors – mainly how your competitors are positioned.

If a course is not offered at your CCC or a nearby CCC, the UCs will usually give you a pass.

Btw, in future, you should post in the UC Transfers sub-forum.

The assist site agreement for Spanish major with my community college and UCLA has no classes listed. It is just a blank page. I’ve went to college counselors and they didn’t give me a clear answer and were confused. Any ideas as to what that would mean???

I see what you mean. I went and looked. Here are the requirements from the website. It may simply be that there are no articulated courses at the CCC level. It kind of looks that way, based on the 3 lower division courses listed. I would just try and get as high up in Spanish as you can, and then definitely send an email to the department for clarification.
