Can I use a digital watch's chronometer on the SAT?

Thank you!

I use one. As long is it does beep loudly. Ideally, they don’t want your watch to make any noise, but as long as it doesn’t distract anyone–meaning no beeping during the section. Yours beeps to start time and end time, correct? If so, that is absolutely fine!

^ no no no. Some proctors may let you get away with a beep, but other’s won’t. The official rule is that you can have a watch WITHOUT an audible alarm. You are not allowed to bring in a “separate timer or any kind of watch with an audible alarm.” (quote from Collegeboard).

You can bring a watch. It can have an alarm. But it cannot have an audible alarm.

^ trust him. i have been misinformed

but my watch only beeps when I start the chronometer, would that make it punishable?

^ Depends on your proctor, but officially, no, it is not okay.

When I start, stop, and reset the stop-watch (under the desk), I cough.
The beeps on my watch are relatively soft.

Got this advice from some old thread.

Edit.
I use my digital watch in a stop-watch mode.

^good one! thanks!
