Can I waitlist a class starting July 27th?

I was bumped from a course, so I have been able to change my schedule starting today. However, when I go to waitlist a class or use the CHANGE command, they do not work properly.

When I go to waitlist, it just says section is closed.

The CHANGE feature merely drops the current section....

Do I need to wait until August 3rd to do that stuff?

I don’t think waitlist starts til class starts.

July 27th: add/drop for anyone with a bumped class
Aug 3rd: add/drop for everyone
Aug 26th: waitlist period begins

Then I think it goes on for about a week. BUT you have to remember to update your waitlist status, because when you sign up on a waitlist it expires within 24 hours

how difficult is it to switch sections or times for a certain class? do i have any chance of doing this during the add/drop for everyone or do i have to wait for the waitlist period? and whats the best method during the waitlist period? thanks!

depends on the class. bigger classes are a lot easier to switch into because theres more of a chance kids will switch out.

you can do this during add and drop. if you really want to get into a class/section i would keep checking oasis. there’s not that much opening right now but tomorrow everyone else (who wasn’t bumped) can begin adding and dropping. also, the time where you are most likely to get into a class is a few days before classes start, then the first week of classes.

make sure to get on the waitlist! I know a lot of kids get up when it starts… which is 8am the first day of classes. sometimes its hard to login to oasis at this time because so many ppl are trying to get on, but keep trying. i have successfuly gotten on a waitlist…then was able to enroll in the course.

on your oasis when you sign on (after you waitlisted a class) it will show your waitlist status. once it says “conditionally enrolled” that means you have 24 hours to accept the spot off the waitlist and enroll into the class. you may never get off the waitlist though
