My son will be an incoming freshman to McCombs. Thinking it might be good to start getting acclimated by taking 6 hours in the summer at UT-Austin. Is this possible, how hard is it to get classes?
I’m pretty sure your son can’t register for classes until he attends summer orientation - which is usually fall classes registration on the 3rd day.
That’s my opinion though.
Ask your son to send an email to applicable (advisor?) person who can directly ask that question. Maybe search around bealonghorn website for the said.
Thanks, will do.
I believe the only way an incoming freshman can register and attend summer courses before their freshman fall semester is through the summer bridge program, which is invite-only.
Checked with regional counselor, he confirmed that one cannot enroll in summer classes at UT (if admitted for Fall, and esp. for McCombs). However can transfer up to 12 hours, so we are going to look at some community college courses here in DFW area for the summer. Possibly calculus I and II, will check and see if that’s possible.
