I don’t want to really spend more money on a twin XL bed set for college. I have sheets for a queen size. Will that fit a twin xl? I can just tuck the extra fabric under the mattress if the sheet is too big.
The sheet will be huge, but you can do what you say, tuck the sheet way under both sides. You can make it work.
Not really. Target has pretty cheap options. You can get away with just one set if you launder them regularly.
Queen sized beds and twin XL beds are both supposed to be 80 inches long. A queen is of course significantly wider.
Thus this should work, with the extra being tucked in the sides.
I can’t imagine how you would practically stuff the excess from both the flat and fitted sheets easily. As someone else noted above Target has pretty cheap options - I bought a Twin set there for $15 and believe that’s also what they were charging for Twin XL sets.
Queens fit fine. I sometimes put queen sheets on bunks at our beach house and they don’t come unmade during the night. You will have a lot of tucking to do.
I guess it can be done but if you can afford to pick up even one inexpensive twin XL fitted sheet at a cheap price it will make things easier.
Personally, I’d prefer using my queen size sheet set and tucking everything in, rather than going for a super cheap set (my first set barely lasted a semester). However I tend to be a bit biased towards lower quality college bedding.
Honestly, with all the money you’re spending on college, don’t you wan to sleep comfortably?
Target has some very affordable sheets that all 3 of my kids LOVE. I’m sure BB&B also has some, as does JC Penney.
Most have some of the fabric on the outside of the package. Many these days are of a Tshirt like material-- really comfortable, and they wash well.
Get some sheets that fit your bed and will stay in place overnight.
OK if the budget is that tight. If you have the funds, buy the right size sheets and save brain space. There is a such thing as being too cheap and making life more difficult than it has to be for no good reason.
If you are the type to toss and turn during the night as I am, I don’t see it working. It is bound to not stay in place well.
