I'm in a terrible situation. One of my teachers have yet to submit their recommendations for the common app (i'm applying to BU, NYU, UVA, Carnegie Mellon). And also, for my Columbia application, none of my teachers have submitted their recommendations yet.

Can I just send in my online application first? Cause I really can't wait for the teachers to submit it online, it'll be past the deadline.

Help really appreciated. I'm about to go crazy!

they give some leeway for teacher recs, transcripts, things out of your control. Make sure your application is in on time. For Columbia, you could "resend" a notification to your teachers.

Thank you for your help! : )

Your SAT score reports aren't due until Feb 1st-Feb15th at many institutions, so you have time to send in recommendations. Also, the recommendation notice is sent to the teacher's email as soon as you send your application, so it is expected that the recs are transmitted after your application has already been sent in.
