Hi, I’m posting this because I’m worried about my acceptance being rescinded because of my grades this semester. They say if your overall GPA in your senior year (fall or spring) is a grade point below your previous academic performance, your admission can be rescinded. Does this count freshman year? Is it weighted or unweighted? Because as my grades stand right now, both those things could mean the difference for me. Thank you very much for reading.
UCs count certain courses from every school year. And it’s not based on your weighted or unweighted, it’s based on your UC GPA. Calculate it here:

Here’s the FAQs for UCSC’s admission contract: https://admissions.ucsc.edu/apply/conditions-faq.html
Do you know if the UC GPA includes freshman year? Or if the UCSC contract does?
UC GPA and the UCSC contract includes certain courses (aka “A-G” courses). https://hs-articulation.ucop.edu/agcourselist
In general for UCSC and most of the UC’s, they want you to maintain a Capped weighted UC GPA of 3.0 or higher for Senior year and no D’s or F’s.
Freshman grades are not considered in your UC capped weighted GPA, only 10-11th grades for the a-g courses.

Due to Covid, most schools will be more lenient but a D and especially an F would be an issue. Passing all your a-g courses with a C or higher should be fine.
Thank you so much for your time and your help. One last question: Is the “weighted and capped GPA” from the website you linked my actual UC GPA? Thanks again.
UC’s look at 3 UC GPA’s: Unweighted, Capped Weighted and Fully weighted. The capped weighted is the UC GPA which is most often listed on Freshman profiles statistical data and GPA listed by the UC websites.
