A few of us on this site think we may have a guaranteed transfer. If anyone rejected could post their letter, that would clarify a lot for us. Thanks!

here's a reject letter:

Dear Reject,
Thank you for your application to Cornell University. We regret to have to tell you that we are unable to offer you admission to Cornell.

We understand that this is not the decision you were hoping to receive from Cornell. Given our very large and competitive applicant pool, it is not possible to offer admission to all candidates who would benefit from a Cornell education.

We wish you the best as you pursue your collegiate studies.
Sincerely,

Jason Locke
Director
Undergraduate Admissions Office
Cornell University

as you can see, nothing about GT, I think they would make it more obvious.

Hey, grantortue, I got the same thing you did. Someone posted it in another thread. It did NOT have the sentance about transfers that ours had. I think thats a pretty good sign.

So much for Any person, any study or whatever they like to say about themselves.

the part where they say, "candidates who would benefit from a cornell education" i find pretty pretentious, luls.

Any does not mean every.

ooh touche. I wrote about that in the letter i sent them after being deferred, lol.

that's true tun...I don't want to sound bitter, because I really wasn't expecting to be accepted anyway. grantortue, did u get the GT option for a year later or 2 years later?

idk yet, it just said transfer option, but I know the majority of them are 1 yr. agreements, i'm hoping mine is as well.

grantortue---have u heard of n e one being rejected from ILR? OR CALS?

I hope wat we got wasnt a rejection letter that is jsut misleading. Becuase i have failed to see n e ILR or CALS rejects without the "transfer" option

No I haven't, but it's not like the hoardes have posted their decisions. My friend and valedictorian of our school applied to humec, as well as my friend from cornell's mvp program, and they both also received this. It has to be the GT option. I e-mailed an adcom so I should know by tomorrow.

i hope it is....

CAS/CALS reject here. Nothing about transfer.

Fu*ck Cornell.
