I'm a little confused with myslice. I was browsing through the course catalog to see what classes I'm going to take, but I noticed you can now search for specific classes such as Biology 121, etc. So are people already signing up for courses for Fall Semester of 2011 and how long do we have to take placement tests and sign up for courses?

If I am doing a major in CAS and going into CAS, am I required to take a foreign language or can I bypass it in anyway? (I took Spanish 1-4 in HS) I took Calc AB an Calc BC in high school as well, what if I do bad on the math placement exam?

I haven't gotten anything from Syracuse since I paid my deposit (I'm early decision, so I paid back in februrary or march) Is this weird?

from the link:

“All new first year student registration is handled by the students home college if they accept their offer of admission by the May 1 deadline. The first registration communication will be sent in late May. The colleges outline requirements in their registration instructions.
You can find a lot of info on the SU site. Make sure to fill out and submit the Health Form.
I don’t think you can register for classes until you do so.”

If you set up your Syracuse email, then they tell you when to start signing up for classes (May 24)

Unless something has changed this year, you don’t sign up for classes online as a freshman for fall…you will get a package that you send back with your class requests (you also put your AP stuff on there as well…); you will also have an opportunity to speak with an advisor in your home school if you need to…

The forms are not returned until sometime in July if I remember correctly

Syracuse hasn’t sent me a single thing since I paid my deposit for ED. What is going on?

vij: I think all will come within the next 4-6 weeks…call them and ask at your respective school if you are at all concerned…

starting today, you can register for classes on myslice. they changed the registration process this year; you should have received a letter in the mail explaining that you should use myslice and including a link to your school’s enrollment instructions. as far as actually opening the registration page, all you have to do is log on to myslice, find the “enrollment” heading under “student services” and then click on the “First Term Enrlmnt Selections” bullet. it’s pretty self-explanatory from that point forward. you don’t have to take placement exams unless you plan to take a math, spanish, or french course. you will need to find your school’s course catalog so that you can choose classes, but that shouldn’t be too hard. many of those lists can be found here: search-results if you’re willing to do some digging, i’m sure you can find the list for your own school…
