Thank you!

Assignment: do you believe that fantasy or imagination is more important than knowledge?

Admittedly, under the circumstance that knowledge is the foundation of development, knowledge is more important than imagination. However, not the same as this viewpoint, do I link the issue that imagination is the origin of knowledge, with that it is the imagination that bring idea and goal to us, it is imagination that bring creativity to us and it is the imagination that bring new though to us, more over my judgment that imagination is far more important than knowledge. To rationalize my point of view, I will handle several reasons and examples as addressed blow.
Demonstrating, my personal experience, I want to explain how the imagination establish the orientation for one rather that knowledge does that. When I was a child, I always imagined that one day I can be a rich business man. So when I grow up, I want to major in business in my ideal university. Do you think the knowledge on business has such temptation that lead me major in business? Of course not! So it is the imagination orients one in one?s future life and make one have a clear goal.
Furthermore, when one get one?s goal, one need imagination to achieve one?s aim, more over this notion can be observed through the example of Edison. Do any one in the ancient time, imagined that one day human would have electric light? No, no one except Edison for he had a goal to light the world. So he imagined how to invent a light. Although he failed thousands of times, he never gave up. At that time some people though that this imagination is fancy, but it is Edison?s imagination that taught him make the light. You may know that it is imagination that bring idea to us and make us achieve our goals.
Finally, the imagination do spur our new thought hat make human formulate different kinds of theories and hypothesizes. Darwin?s experience may be convincing. As Darwin had a trip to an island, he researched the skeletons of animals. To his surprise, he found that there was great similarity in these animals. So he started to imagine how these animals evolve. Finally, he formulated the hypothesis on evolution which is differs from the theory made by religion and so is an innovated thought. The imagination spur the new though, is not it?
As an ancient saying goes ?every coin has two sides?, we can not polarize the issue, whereas, the disadvantage of my judgment is that one?s achievement not only depends on imagination but also depends on one?s practice which includes knowledge.
All in all, considering all the reasons and examples as shown above, I want to conclude that the imagination spur our idea, creativity, and new though and help us achieve our goal, even if compared with the advantage, the disadvantage is minor point.
