Can you stack merit scholarships?

My son was just e-mailed about 2 different merit scholarships he has been awarded. Can he use both and stack them, or can you just use one at a time? Both are for the same amount.

i have the same exact situation and question.

I was just reading on their site:

“You can only receive one merit award sponsored or partnered by the University. In situations where you qualify for multiple awards, you will be awarded whichever is most beneficial to your aid package.”

So I do not think you can stack merit scholarships unfortunately.

Than what is the point of sending out emails giving two scholarships to someone? I think they may have accidentally sent the IB Scholarship letter to everyone, because I got two emails and I didn’t qualify for the IB one.

yeah, I think the IB scholarship is a mistake, since I haven’t taken a single IB class throughout high school…

I was wondering the same thing. I also received the IB scholarship but I’m not in the IB program.

Same here. My daughter apparently was awarded both the IB scholarship (not in any IB program) and the Wilder Trustee Scholarship. Is it a mistake?

And the same here: D also was awarded the Wilder Scholarship and the IB Scholarship, even though she’s never taken an IB course (and there’s no IB program at her HS). After seeing how many students are in the same predicament, I’m also guessing that it’s probably some kind of an error. Although, if it’s somehow not an error that would be fantastic…

Well… on the bright side, congratulations to those of you who recieved scholarships.

Unfortunately, many students have recieved an e-mail suggesting that they are recipients of the IB Scholarship in addition to another scholarship (it appears most often to be the Wilder Trustee Scholarship). We are working to correct our mistake.

As the website suggests, we only award each student one merit scholarship, and if you or your son/daughter has not completed the IB Diploma, he/she is not eligble for the IB Scholarship. Hang in there as we try to determine what caused the error. Thanks!
