Can you stack scholarships at University of Richmond?

I received the Robins Science Scholar designation which is a full ride scholarship at UR. However, I also have the National Merit designation from the PSAT. I wanted to know whether or not my total scholarship award from UR would decrease if I choose to designate UR as my first choice and receive the national merit finalist scholarship. Is it even worth it to do so?

Thanks!

Your best bet on this question is to contact the Financial Aid Office directly. You can reach them at 804-289-8438 or 800-700-1662. They can help you understand how your package might change if you add the NM $.

Congratulations!

in my richmond scholar notification package it said that national merit money awarded by a company (like my national merit would come from my dad's company, boeing) would be accepted by the university of richmond. So since I"m an oliver hill scholar and was awarded full tuition, the national merit money would go ontop of that full tuition scholarship. however, the total scholarship amount cannot exceed the full cost of richmond (tuition, room, baord, etc.). i hope that makes sense...

So that means that if I got tuition and room/board that my national merit scholarship will be useless?

Well...what would your scholarship pay for, if you already have a scholarship that pays for tuition and room/board? I don't think they'll just cut you a check...

In some situations you may receive aid up to the cost of attendance, which is more than tuition, room and board and includes a budget for books and other supplies, personal expenses and travel. I'm not a financial aid officer so the nuance of when an award can exceed tuition, room and board is not at my fingertips. That's why I suggested you contact financial aid directly. It's worth asking if you can use the NM$ for books etc. Good luck!
