I just need a P.E. course to get my A.A. degree and I want to take it in the Summer. However, the Summer schedule for my school won't be up for months, so this leaves me in a dilemma.

On the January update, I wrote the following:

Dept. Course No. Course Title Units Grade
PHED clear Physical Education Course 1 PL

I know the department will be P.E., but I don't know the course number or course title so I just wrote "clear" and a general title. What else could I have written?

Is this okay? Or should I not do this because I read on this very forum that they'll rescind you if you plan a course for the Summer and don't take that exact course. I am 100% intent on taking a P.E. course, I'm just not sure which one it'll be. I've been busy with school (like the rest of you) and I work as a personal trainer at Ballys so I can't take it before the Summer.

In an email I received, the UCs said: If your planned coursework changes or you receive D or F grades in winter coursework after the academic update deadline, you must notify the admissions office at each UC campus to which you applied.

Since I don’t know my course number and course title, it will surely change.

Sorry i did not read ur post, only looked at ur thread title.

and for your question i will say NO. You could, but it won’t count for UC.

why didn’t you look at an old course catelog from your school and pick a class that you would want to take? you could’ve used the information and everything. you should call them bra

I’ve already thought of that, P.E. classes change every semester.

PHED 3FA during Fall 2011 will become PHED 2F Spring 2012 and PHED 2AF in the Summer. My school’s ■■■■■■■■ like that.

lame. call them! that would freak me out

usually universities take up to 4 P.E. credits to use for graduation. Look it up in the school catalog that you are going to.

The P.E. class won’t matter. You don’t need PE to transfer. If you are taking the class to get your AA, then take it.

Why would you worry about a PE class that is taken AFTER you get admitted to your university. As long as you don’t fail it, it won’t matter.

“Why would you worry about a PE class that is taken AFTER you get admitted to your university. As long as you don’t fail it, it won’t matter.”

Because, if you label the class wrong, it looks fishy. I don’t know the course number for the PHED department and still have to report what class I’m taking and my community college transcript has to match my UC transcript.

I can’t write PHED 13 on the UC transcript now and end up taking PHED 43V.

THEY ARE NOT GOING TO CARE ABOUT A PE CLASS. It’s a non major requirement.

Don’t put it on the update. Then when summer comes around, call them and ask them what to do about your PE class, I pretty much guarantee to you they will tell you don’t worry about it, and just make sure you send in an official transcript update after you complete the class.

Don’t fail the class and it is a non-issue.

if it really makes you that nervous, then the legit way is to put a course on the update, indicate it as planned for the summer, then when summer rolls around call the university as to how to handle it.
