Planned Course

I entered a math class as planned on the UC application. I'm already accepted to UCSC. The problem is that the math class that I planned on taking during summer is not offered during summer as I had hoped. Would this completely void my admission status? I'm really worried :(

Also, Would it effect the admission status If I Dropped a non-uc transferrable courses for spring?

you should call the school and see
but from what i know, UCs don’t really care about summer.

I gave the admission office a call, and the guy said that they can’t know for sure whether to admit me or not unless I send them all the info by email and hope for the best.

What if I just wait it out? I’m going to have to send them a spring transcript by summer, and I won’t get my summer grade until I’m already enrolled in the class at UCSC. I don’t want to take the chance of getting my admission revoked if I don’t take one of the class that I could easily take over at UCSC. Would it be likely that I would get kicked out while attending UCSC because I didn’t take a class during summer?

Same thing here except I had this issue for UCSD. UCSD officer told me they don’t even look at the summer stuff so it doesn’t matter. Maybe it’s the same for UCSC.

I haven’t gotten my decision from UCSD, when did you get accepted?
Did you e-mail the UCSD officer?
Did you have to change the application, and when did you do it?
Omg, i’m shatting brick right now lol

Apr. 5

UCSD gives you a number to contact admissions officers once you get accepted. I didn’t change anything. I just called the number, pressed 9, then talked to an admissions officer. She said they didn’t care, even if it was planned.

are you going to update your uc application? or are you just going to leave it on there until they ask you to update it?

Hey guys I’m sort of in a similar situation,

On my UC application, I put my planned SPRING courses, and my planned Summer courses. I’ve heard many times that UC’s penalize (rescind acceptances) for dropping/failing a SPRING course that you said you were going to take.

BUT, what about a summer course? I put that I was going to take a course (which is NOT a part of my GE’s, IGETC, or major prerequisites) just to pass time and get (another) AA if I didn’t get into the summer internships I applied to.

Well I just got accepted to a summer internship at UC Davis and I have to tell them by tomorrow if I will be accepting. My question is will I be penalized for not taking this useless summer course that I listed as “planned” on my UC application? I really wanna do this internship, but not if I’m going to get rescinded from any possible UC acceptances. (I applied to UCSD, UCD, UCLA, UCB, UCI, if that information helps). Thanks in advance!

bump x10char

I thought UCs didn’t care about summer courses.
my UCR advisor let me drop a course in the spring that had nothing to do with pre reqs or IGETC.
I asked him a question about summer classes, and he didn’t even let me finish because he said they don’t care about summer.

I just wanted to make sure. Thank you very much. I’ve e-mailed the admissions about this and I’ll keep everybody updated :)

It would be amazing if they really don’t care about summer course but it was a part of the application, so I was a bit worried

I’m pretty sure they don’t care. UC Davis and UCSD told me they don’t. UC Berkeley might be the exception. In the myBerkeley app, for some majors, they let you finish your prerequisites in the summer prior to transfer.

Dear Upper,
Thank you for providing us with an update on your schedule. It is true that we did not extend an offer of admission for students that did not complete our selection requirements by the end of spring term as well as the major prep requirements for your major. You will need Econ 11A/B for the major but we were only screening for completion of Macro/Micro for the Business Mgmt. Econ. major. Our offer of admission will remain intact for fall 2013.

Sincerely,
Admission Person

In :)
