Can you transfer to USC as a pre-med/pre pharmacy major?

Can you transfer to USC as a pre-med/pre pharmacy major?

I am an incoming freshman in college. I am already thinking about applying to USC as a transfer student going into my sophomore year. I read that there are no minimum number of credits you need to transfer (normally you need 60 credits to transfer anywhere else). With that said, my current major is undecided but I AM ON THE PRE-MED TRACK AT MY SCHOOL. USC offers a pre-pharmacy track that I am interested in and since my old school never had that, I was wondering can I transfer to usc with a pre-med track AND/OR switch my track to pre-pharmacy without being behind?

Also, USC says they require 2 semesters of english composition at your school before transferring? I took a placement test just a couple of weeks ago and was exempt out of one english class, meaning I dont have to take it at my school and can just take the next level english class. If i were to transfer, does this count as taking 2 semesters of english?

Yes, you can transfer to USC as a “pharm” major. However, pharmacy schools don’t care what you major in.
The next “level” English you are placed is probably equivalent to USC’s writing requirement.

If you are at UC Irvine, UCLA, UCR, CSULA, USC has an articulation history with them. Just google it.

FIGHT ON!!!

I go to school in massachusetts to add on as another detail! So I dont know if me being exempt from one semester of english will be transferrable as the one of two semesters of english required to transfer to usc. What do you think??

Premed is just a set of coursework, you can major in anything.

pepe, thats fine. Don’t worry about it. since you got exempt from the first part, USC will know. Contact a admissions counselor if you’re that worried.

ok also, if i were to transfer to usc after ONE year and become apart of the pre-pharmacy track, when would I be able to apply for pharmacy school??

Pepe,

I’m going to send you a PM.
