i put that too... but again.. i ran out of time so its hard to say how accurate that answer would be >.<

i got recover as an answer

for the shy uncle i got something like "you might not get to know he is an accomplished botanist"

i put that at first... but it just seemed realli out of context.... like... a random line about a botanist as a concluding sentence? goes from botany to a new paragraph that doesn't have anything to do with the previous line? i didn't htink it made much sense

it does i think coz the thesis is that you might get the wrong impression about shy ppl and dun get to know them as the interesting ppl they are, thus that sentence contributes to the overall thesis by saying how interesting his uncle is under the facade of eccentricity or w.e.

yup... i got recover too.. .and its right from wat i've read

o shoot... i might've gotten that one wrong then... i shouldn't have changed it... do u remember wat u got for the other one.... the one about the best concluding sentence

what did u put or what r the answer choices?i dun remember...

i dun realli remember either... i just randomly chose one that didn't sound too wrong... btw...if you don't mind me asking.. .wat did you get on your SAT's before?

740 CR
other two let's just say i did bad (not that bad but bad for all u 2250+ ppl)....but i didn't study at all, simply want to know what i can get without studying.i can always retake in dec if i do bad in oct, which i did

studied for this one tho...man PR,Kaplan, and Barron's are useless for SATI,but McGraw Hill is good for vocab.Kaplan's huge practice tests book is ok too,not as accurate as CB's blue book

if you guys want to retake SATI use CB's blue book+grammatix+CB online course (for answers to blue book and 3 more practice tests),altho i figured this strategy out way to late for myself to use it,but pretty sure it's the best way to study....man wish i studied earlier...

its realli good... i dunno if i should cancel my score or not.. i don't think there was a huge significant increase from my nov ones... onli 20 or so points more... dunno if its worth that extra testing to get onli a slightly better score... i hear that lots of ivies "frown upon" ppl who take SATs excessively

u prob did better than u expected tho, sometimes even ppl who score perfect walk out of the room thinking they did bad.but 2 weeks is a long time to wait for the freaking report,i'd be willing to pay to get my score earlier...did u break the 2150 mark in Nov?i think 700-750 is not that different, while 750-800 is a higher level.but i dun think 710 and 740 are that different, same thing for 760 and 780...lol 800 symbolizes perfection,it's more psychologically satisfying than 780 or 790 i guess,i mean i wud love a 800:)

lol.. that's sooo true... like u look at someone with an 800 and think WOW! but 790... which is , realistically speaking, about the same level as an 800 (it all depends on your mood when you're taking the test) ... just not as impressive... yea... i got 2290 in nov. so i dunno if 20 points is gonna make that much difference... since my composite is already 2300

how many ques can u get wrong if u wanna score a 700 ??

lol then dun sweat it silverangel89,i think i saw on the mit forum 750-800 to mit is the same, ben jones (an admission guy) said that i think. for oct math 3 wrong 2 blank is 700,but that curve is lenient.for CR it's prob 7 or 8 wrong.dunno abt writing

ooo.. thats good.. but if i score lower this month than last month... it'll look horrendous >.< ..then they'll think my nov. one is a fluke... i heard that november sat's are always easier than any other ones because thats wen all the early apps are due so the seniors havta look good... i was thinking of waiting another year and then writing it again in november... but i realli ddin't wanna spend another year worrying about sats

it all depends on the curve... the reading was slightly harder so u can get a few more wrong and still manage a 700... like 7-8

math... since its almost always easier, is graded on a much higher scale... oct. one wrong was already 20, so this time... something like 5-6 wrong for 700...

writing... much depends on your essay... if you get a ten... u can get 8-9 wrong... october.. i got 2 wrong and they took of 20 marks... but again... if you bombed ur essay... its much harder to get 700... personally... i find the writing section the hardest to guess wat u got...

I skipped 4 SC questions and got a couple of passage questions wrong :(
