I feel as if many Canadians have a lot of dilemma when trying to get into elite universities, because of the credits, AP Courses, etc.

My situation:

Many of the Ivy League Universities suggest that candidates take the following:

4 years of English
4 years of a foreign language
2/3/4 years of science
3 years (at least) of history, including American and European History
4 years of math

However, what I'm worried about is the 3 years of history. All I have right now is Canadian History, and I am wondering if I should take American and/or European History outside of school. Would this be necessary?

Thank you in advance!
