BBall Throw- 65 ft.
Pull-ups- 15
Crunches- Max
Shuttle run- 10 sec.
Push-ups- Max
mile run- 10 Min.

My runs were off...sheesh. It's because i ran yesterday! I totally forgot I had a CFA to do...but whatever..

how does it look?.. I'm sure i have about 250+ points there....how much is a lot?

I don't know what is "passing" on the CFA but everything looks good to me except the mile run. Back in the days before the 1.5 mile run, 6 min. 30 seconds was passing for a male midshipman in the mile run (not the CFA test). I would think that if you got the mile down below 7.5 minutes you would be OK. Add about a minute for females.

I agree with my shipmate, here. 10 minutes for the run is WAY too slow. I was at NAPS when they switched from the 6:30 mile to the 10:30 1.5-mile run. You need to work on that.

Of course, right now I could probably run a mile in 5................. hours. :(

does it look like i passed atleast?

I was at NASS session III and SLS II, the slowest mile time I saw that passed was 8:35ish I did see some above 9 and they did fail but I can't remember if it was because of the mile or not I'm thinking it probably was though, I'd say it would be pushing it with anything over 8:35ish but thats just me. Besides that your other scores are deffinately fine, nothing to worry about with those

does the CFA require passing on all, or is it a point total that they use

as in, you can have good scores for everything, bomb one, and still pass.

Dude, you're applying to the Naval Academy. If you're not trying to at LEAST PASS them ALL, you're applying to the wrong place.

Failure is not an option. You can barely pass some things and excel at others, with the understanding that the passing score is a minimum standard (and tough enough, to boot), but excelling at everything and failing one thing means YOU FAILED.

Proof? A classmate of mine, from NAPS, prior enlisted (for real, as in E-5 Aviation ET), pulling something like a 3.9 GPA in physics with a minor in Russian, got booted our 2/C year because........... he couldn't pass the swim test.

A standard is a standard. Get your butt out onto the track and RUN. If I was able to pass the damned runs, you certainly can.

I gave my best shot on all of them. I ran that same morning because I totally forgot I had to do a CFA. I nearly maxed out on pullups, maxed on push ups, maxed on crunches, did great on the shuttle and bball throw, but my run was off.

I can run a mile in about 6:50/7:00. Not terribly fast, but a decent score nonetheless. I had a bad day, simple as that. Don't make it sound like I'm just trying for the minimums. I tried for the maximums, but did bad on one score in the process becuase I blew myself out. I gave it my all, so respect that.

All I know is that it's a PASS/FAIL test. what are the requirements for the passing score? (a passing score on all events, or an averaged score that meets the "PASSING" standard?)

I do. Feel better?

Besides, giving your best is what is expected of you.

I don't know the definitive answer, but I suspect you failed. Why? because they don't care about effort; they care about results. Strictly speaking, you failed.

Can you retake it? If so, then train up, retake it, and kick it's ass.

Oh, and if you think I'm being rough with you, guess again. I'm just being straight up.

If you want to see rough, wait until you get there.

haha i wouldn't doubt it zaphod.

lol im actually on a ROTC scholarship right now, they sent me a official candidate paper the day i was presented my check.

im actually reconsidering going to USNA/continuing my application there.

I'm happy I already have my chance to become a naval officer..and that's what i really want. so if I fail on this dude, it's no skin off my back. i love the navy, even if they think I can't run! :D

I was wondering the exact same thing about my own CFA.

55' basketball throw
94 pushups
Max crunches
12 pull-ups
9 second shuttle run
5:58 mile

I am a little wary about my scores. I feel like I did okay, especially on pushups, crunches, and the run, but I'm especially worried about my basketball throw. I'm almost positive I could do better on it if I try again, especially now that I know what it entails. What are y'all's thoughts?

lol man you passed.

you have a olympic run time...lol.

everything looks good dude.

You ran a sub-six mile and you're worried?

If you think running it again will improve your score, then by all means do so, but don't do it because you think you scored poorly. Your scores look great!

Fastest I ever ran the mile was near the end of Plebe Summer, when I ran a 5:45. I'm still in shock.

Next best time was 6:10. It goes rapidly downhill from there! :D

how many pullups do you have to do to "pass". I have never been very good at them, and can't seem to improve.

The maximum performance score for pullups is 18.

there is no official "pass" shoot for the max regardless, I was at SLS and the lowest I saw pass was 6 but that doesn't mean that there weren't people with lower that still passed thats just all I saw, but a good number would be 9ish or higher I would say

Was your mile a passing time at 10min? I’m worried about my mile and i got a bit lower than that I am female I can share my scores with you if you think you can help me out please.
