Candidate’s Choice Application to Rensselaer

So...I got a letter from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in New York stating that I got a "outstanding ACT score"..."eligible for Candidate's Choice Application..."

what does this mean?

what do they mean by "oustanding score" 30s??? mid 20s???

Is this a good thing???

Is Rensselaer a good engineering school? (I'm going into engineering)

It means you are being allowed to apply using an easier application. I have no idea what their criteria are, but apparently you met it.

Rensselaer is definitely a good engineering school that you should consider. Newsweek named RPI one of their "New Ivies".

they offered a free shirt if sumbitted on 12/11

I remember that, I didn't apply because when everything is said and done, there was no way i was going to go there.

they invited me to apply too using that.
no way im going to a techie school, though
