Hey! I would appreciate some input on my headache of a problem. I got accepted into Kean bio medicine with their William Livingston Scholarship. I would be going to college for free and into their honors program. Kean is also near by so I could live at home which is what I prefer to do. I also got accepted into Stonybrook Bio, and failed to get into honors. I would live in an off campus apartment there. I got no financial aid from there.
My question is what do you guys think is a better choice? I am interested in continuing my profession as a dentist and going into grad school. Thanks
Sounds like Kean is a better proposition, since you’d rather live near home + you got into the Honors program, which would be greatly helpful to get more personalized advising toward dental school and smaller, more interactive classes.
WRT the commute, I would strongly recommend you try to live in the Honors Dorm for your first year, so that you actually have a better shot of using its full benefits and become more independent more quickly. Then, once you’ve established a stronger sense of independence than as a HS student, you could move back home. How long does it for you to get to Kean?
Lastly, since we don’t know when the health&economic disaster hitting us is going to end, “free college” should be awfully tempting.
Did you get into any other college that might be in-between Kean and Stony?
I would agree w Myos1634- you can save a lot a cash esp vs SB out of state tuition
