Can't decide on a major...

Hey everyone, I am ending my college selection process and am having a bit of trouble deciding what I should major in. Here are colleges that I've applied and been accepted to:

LSU
University of Tennessee (Knoxville)
Belmont University
Pepperdine University

When I first started looking at colleges, I knew what I wanted to do: double major in music business and history. Belmont would allow me to do that, so I thought for sure I'd be going there. However at the beginning of the year, I had the chance to talk with someone who worked at Capitol Records (my dream job!) in promotions. She told me she was a music business major, but changed to marketing so that she would not be limited to the music business. She said it was always good to have a solid business background and that the music business was always changing. She also said to "Think big picture." Her advice shook me up all the way up until now: Marketing or music business?

I could double major in marketing and history at any of the schools I listed above aside from Pepperdine (in which case I could go into Communications with a specialization in Marketing), but I plan on staying in the music business and I feel that Belmont would really help me in doing that - they have great internships in the area along with two study programs in New York and Los Angeles that sound amazing. But at the same time, my friend at Capitol's advice kinda threw me for a loop. Not only that but I really love Pepperdine's campus and I have a strange feeling about Belmont that I haven't quite figured out yet. LSU and UTennessee are sort of out of the picture at the moment unless finances become an issue. Anyhow, any advice? If you have any questions, please just ask. I appreciate the advice. Thank you!!

Bump…

hmm… lol

Why history? I’d go marketing over music business; there’s so many things you can do with a marketing degree, but as she said, music business would limit you and could make it hard for you to find a job. Internships or co-ops will allow you to “specialize” in the music aspect of it, while still having a marketing degree in case you can’t find something there.
