can't find..

Hey guys,

I'm international student from Asia. My writing sucks. I just can't connect words..That's why i got my toefl ibt 77.. But my SAT was ok( math-730, CR-340) . My Gpa 4.0. I have all A's.

I want to study BS computer science. When i started to search for colleges which will accept with lower toefl , i found college's which I'm not interested... Can you advice me some good colleges ?

Andother thing.. I'm 21 years old. I graduated from my high school at 2011 , then i was traveling around the world. Am i too old for undegraduadate? Will i feel awkward at college?

Thank you.

Age would not be an issue, and you would not feel awkward, but that TOEFL score and SAT CR score are. Ability to pay may be an issue as well. You really should work on raising that TOEFL score if you want to go to any good school in the US.

You can consider going to a community college, and learning English. You may even be able to get a scholarship based on your grades.

Here is a random school that accepts IBT 70 or above:

They have some computer-related fields.

Over 30 years old would be awkward, 21 will not be.

Is that a typo? did you get a 340 in CR? If so, that is going to keep you out of many schools.

You’re not too old.

What is your budget? How much can you pay each year?

My Budget is okay. I worked 3 years. So i can afford any tuition…

i tried 4 times to repass toefl, but it didn’t help. i will go to take SAT again. planning to get my math to 750-800 and improve CR and writing as well…

You should pay a visit to the closest office of EducationUSA, and talk with the counselors there about good places to take a pre-college Academic English course. Many of those programs are on college and university campuses, and the teachers can help you improve your English so that you are ready for classes in your major. If you plan to spend at least one semester improving your English, perhaps you can start some computer classes during the second semester. EducationUSA is a not for profit organization. The counselors can provide you with accurate, unbiased information about educational options in the US. https://www.educationusa.info/centers.php

Thank you

I’m currently in US…

21 is fine. you’ll be older than most first years, but that will even out as time goes by. 340 is not as bad most folks pretend. Look at SAT optional schools. Which schools interest you? Have you tried contacting the admissions departments. Many school have rep assigned to international applicants who can steer you in the correct direction.
