i cant seem to focus on my apps at all!i keep on finding myself procrastinating, and i keep on reminding myself to do my apps bt then i end up doin something else. the deadline is approaching, and i'm not done! what should i do??? slap myself everytime i procrastinate? or hit my groi... never mind thats hazardous

Haha, lol.
hmm, just lock yourself in your room and tell yourself, "I can't do ******* if I don't finsh these." You'd probably end up finishing it.
Or, tell yourself how much you want to get in the schools.
Start by brainstorming first, and then the thoughts would come out naturally.

wow, five? hmm.. you should chooose the one where when you wrote you were passionate and you were really in the zone..you know what i mean? like when the words come naturally and you don't have to stop and think every 5 minutes

I'm better with the creative essays rather than the straightfoward ones like,
What is a mistake you made and what did you learn from it.
I just can't think of anything off the top of my head that I actually remember.

Creative ones like, "Write a story from the following topics." That one made me go on and on because I made it all up :)

freshie, i mean like hmm i'd write TOO much and my essay would only be halfway finished when it's already past 3500 characters. or i'd write too little and just lose it after three paragraphs. i finished 90% of one within the limit (my first essay, too) but it just doesn't seem to convey anything. ughhhh. i need choate finished fast, it's the first one due!!

dude, sps is so philosophical its not even funny
and andover has lk two creative, the other four is like logical/scienctific
lk what you propose for green cup challenge (competition for the most energy saved) -_-

Well I think SPS essays bring the best out of you, if you have anything in you. The only question I had to think about for a couple days was the "launch your own crusade" one, that was the only "philisophical" one. But then I thought...how in the world do they expect an 8th grader to know how their going to use SPS to launch their own crusade and change the world. So I feel for ya.

Lol funny enough I did the green cup challenge one, I think I had a pretty good plan. And answering that question shows them more of your leadership qualities which is always important. And I think its a little to late for you to apply to Hotchkiss. You'd be putting a lot ofwork on not only you but your parents and your teachers. I actually want to add it on, but I don't want to and any more pressure to my parents.
