I’m a transfer student. Gonna live in the SSAs. I found out that they issue only one parking permit per unit. How do they determine who gets the spot between me and my roommate? Is it random? I really want to bring my car for several reasons. There is an appeal you can write apparently to request a guaranteed spot. What would be some valid reasons that they would accept? I’m stressed out about this. I just recently found out that it isn’t guaranteed . . . I’m not getting a meal plan and I’d like to be able to drive to the grocery store pretty often, and I might be getting an off-campus job so I really would rather have my car . . . help?

bump 10 char . . . this forum isn’t too active, is it? :(

i’d imagine since it’s summer that students who might be able to answer your question are either busy with summer classes/jobs or busy having fun (and don’t want to be online necessarily). i take that as a good thing!

but yes, in general, it seems that upperclassmen don’t frequent this forum. most comments seem to come from incoming freshmen.

my advice would be to call the parking and/or housing office (i don’t know what SSAs are so i’m assuming it’s university-owned housing?) and ask someone there. good luck!

gracias :)

thinking about doing sports is a good reason my friend brought a car and her excuse was golf team
