Hello everyone,

I have a degree in Finance and worked for a few years in the consulting world. I would like to go into the biotech sector. Does it make the most sense for me to do another undergraduate program in bioengineering or try to find an MBA/MS in Biology program?

I am totally confused as to what I should do.

Thanks,

To a certain extent this depends on which courses you took as an undergrad. Take a look at the courses required for graduation in a couple different biotech and bioengineering programs, and see how many of them you’ve already had. Think about how long it would take you to get the pre-requisites out of the way. I went back to my home-state public U when I changed fields, so did several other people that I know. Not everyone completed a full second undergrad degree. Many of us just got the coursework we needed to go to grad school in the new field of study. Another popular place to re-make your life is at the local community college.

Wishing you all the best.
