Are the results out yet ? Did anybody get in ?
rejcted
aaaaand rejected from pwl–big waste of my time
Basically rejected - they put me in the summer waitlist.
Historically, what were the chances of getting of the pwl for CFA?
anyone get in for school of art?
Which area of the arts are you applying to? @wowow999
@pdxtigermom fine arts
@wowow999 Isn’t CFA College of Fine Arts? Music, Drama are all fine arts.
@pdxtigermom I applied for the School of Art within the CFA.
My D got accepted into SCS from PWL today. Now we are trying to go there in a hurry and see how the schools feels. Decision needs to be made by 9th. She was ready to go to UT Austin CS. We are torn as she has AP tests right now. Anybody out here who we can get some guidance and help. Thank you in advance!
@HoustonTxDad Congrats!! CMU is #1 in CS. The question will be about cost. If you can afford the $70k per year for CMU do it. If cost is a factor then UT Austin is an excellent choice.
My son got waitlisted again to summer. I advised him to reject CMU. It is not worth. Even he was accepted, I like to want him not to go with extra $50k a year. He got Turing scholar and Dean scholar at UT. Most people chose UT with Turing scholar than going to CMU. Now I am more happy than if got accepted.
@KWZ2019 Gosh I hate the extended waitlists. My D went through it at JHU 2 years ago. It was a sheer torture for us. The schools should not do this to 17 and 18 year olds, it’s just not right.
How does the rejection letter say?
Did they mention that they went thru the essay
no
Agree with @pdxtigermom. These 17 and 18 year olds are trying to enjoy the last few weeks of senior year… Proms, May Day’s etc. Crazy and insulting that CMU is requiring ANOTHER essay as well.
I hope everyone gets into CMU if this is your dream school. My son opened up spots at 2 schools for you all after declining admission.
My was admitted to the UT Austin computer science prestigious Turing scholar and Dean scholar programs because the decision was made by renown professors. He was rejected by MIT, Stanford and CMU because the decisions were made by low educated admission officers with different prospective or matrix, which will save us at least $200,000 CASH and get equal or even better undergraduate education at UT-Austin. I say no to CMU!
